MOVIE ANALYSIS: ACCEPTED

      MY REFLECTION: ACCEPTED

    Accepted is a 2006 American comedy film written by Adam Cooper, Bill Collage, and Mark Perez and directed by Steve Pink. The plot revolves around a group of high school graduates who decide to start their own college after being rejected by the colleges to which they applied.

The first film that made me aware of certain previously unnoticed perspectives in this society was "Accepted" (2006)". Everything in this film was accurate to life in our culture today.

This film demonstrated how unique each person is. In my opinion, simply though individuals who are qualified for college are predicted to be successful in the future does not prohibit others who lack the necessary qualifications from becoming successful. It is entirely true that appearance alone should not be used for judging someone. It taught me not to look down on others and their dreams and hopes simply because they differ from yours. We, as young people, should use our unconventional ideas to create something important for our own future. It reminds us that to become better and succeed in life, you need to have desires.

The movie gave me mixed emotions such as I felt pity, proud, happy, pleased and satisfied because of unexpected plot twists of the movie. In the first part of the movie I felt pity to the main character who is Bartleby because he is always being rejected. But, as I go along watching the movie, I felt proud and happy for the perseverance and eagerness of the main character to succeed in his plans. Lastly, I felt pleased because through the hardships and failures they overcome, that doesn't become the hindrance to continue their dreams to succeed in life. All in all, I was satisfied in the movie for giving me mixed emotions while watching it.

The movie highlighted that, people do not only learn with the help of the syllabus, books and all the materials existed in the classroom but also people learn because they experience something. There's a saying in the movie that learning is paying attention and opening ourselves to great big ball that we called life. On the other hand, in the technolgy in education, this movie used the beauty of technology through their creativity. Using the technology, the main chracters created a website and portal wherein the students could enroll and monitor their achievements in school.

The theme emphasized in the film are the value of education, friendship and effective teamwork. It is an appealing open book concerning the nature of college education in America. From the beginning to the end, all of the main characters made an effort to work together to address any issues. It goes without saying that if we have a dream and are willing to strive, we can achieve anything.
